OUR VISION

Technology as a Force for Good

Govio is a social entrepreneurship project aimed at improving democratic processes and public services through the use of technology.


The concept has been developed in partnership with The Democratic Society and includes:

  • The Govio Fund to invest in early stage civic tech start-ups.

  • The civic.tech platform for Events (including civic.tech awards) & Marketplace (an AppStore for civic.tech apps).

GOVIO AT THE GOVTECH SUMMIT IN PARIS

Organised by PUBLIC and supported by French President Emmanuel Macron, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo and the European Commission, the GovTech Summit will gather European leaders and innovators to explore how new technologies can improve public services and democratic practices. Christian Mandl will contribute to the panel "Investing in GovTech: The Outlook for the Venture Market".

REUTERS TV INTERVIEW WEF 2018 IN DAVOS

As part of its "Schatzalp | Rising Talent" series, Reuters TV interviewed Christian Mandl, Founder of Govio, in January 2018 during the World Economic Forum in Davos. He addresses "how tech can disrupt the democratic process". Christian attended the WEF as a Young Global Leader.

GOVIO AT GOVTECH PIONEERS IN VIENNA

In Vienna on 23 May 2018, Europe's very first GovTech event will gather leading politicians, public CIOs, startups, corporations and VC’s. Meet the innovators behind a $400bn market and learn more about the latest trends in Citizen Collaboration, Blockchain and Security. Christian Mandl will be a member of the jury and will talk about "Investing in GovTech Startups".
